Day 4 (Con't): Dinner at Uncle Joe’s

Things got a little crazy last night, in a good way, so I didn’t get the chance to upload photos like I had wanted.  Right as the boys were waking-up from their afternoon nap, we hit some nasty road construction about 10 miles from our motel in Havre, MT.  The traffic wasn’t too bad, but the road was completely removed and a long mud trail was in its place.  Going at about 15 miles an hour, it took us quite a while to get through it all.  Our coach driver Rodney stated, “I have never seen a coach as dirty as this one”, even though he had just washed it that morning.

Then, by the time we reached the motel, huge grey storm clouds appeared to be bearing-down on us with some nasty lightning in the clouds.  The boys did great, getting the suitcases unloaded and their carry-on bags ready to go.  Aaron and I checked-in to the motel quickly and got the boys into their rooms to relax for a while.  By the time we made it to our rooms, we assumed we would be soaked to the bone with 28 boys in chaos but were very surprised to see the sun out.  The clouds went right around us without as much as a raindrop to my knowledge.

The boys actually had a little time to relax and chill-out before dinner.  I found a nice little spot about a block away from our hotel called “Uncle Joe’s Steak House” and set-up dinner for us.  The boys dressed into their collared play shirts and walked over for a great dinner at the steakhouse.  It went very well, for a steakhouse.  (Generally, steakhouses have a way of “taking their sweet time” to cure the deep fried chicken fingers half the boys order.)

After dinner, it was back to the motel to hop into the swim trunks and attack Andy Misiura in the pool.  At last check, it was Prefects 2, Boys 0.

See you in the morning!

P.J.
